Michael has spent most of the last 15 years devoted to driving growth in businesses dedicated to innovation in financial services. Prior to co-founding Financeit, Michael was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at epost (www.epost.ca), a world leader in the electronic bill presentment and payment industry. Michael was responsible for leading the team that built the epost customer network which grew to include every major Canadian financial institution, over 100 of Canada's largest companies and over 3 million online users. Previous to this role, Michael was on the founding team of an Ottawa-based Internet start-up creating online enterprise solutions, on the launch team of a successful Ontario Labour Sponsored Investment Fund and was a management consultant with a Washington, DC based systems integration firm. Michael also served as a Legislative and Special Assistant to a number of Members of Parliament at the House of Commons in Ottawa. Michael attended both the University of Manitoba and Carleton University and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics.
Casper joins us after a stint with easyhome where he was Director of e-Business and Business Development. Easyhome is Canada’s largest publicly traded merchandise leasing company with over 240 store locations and annual revenues in excess of $170MM. While there, Casper developed a growth strategy for their online lending business and lead his team to double loan book and revenue growth in a span of 6 months. He was also responsible for sourcing, implementation, and negotiation of key partnerships including an underwriting platform with Transunion. Furthermore, he organized and set up their credit, adjudication and customer service areas for the online lending business as the company expanded. Prior to easyhome, he was with BMO Capital Markets having worked on their Mergers and Acquisitions team and completed many successful transactions in the Retail, Aerospace & Defense, Mining, and Oil & Gas sectors with combined values in excess of $12 billion.
Paul has worked on and led many unique projects since graduating from one of Canada’s top computer engineering faculties, ECE at UofT. Previously he wore the entrepreneur’s hat as Partner & CTO of MomentVille, an online wedding website and planning service with hundreds of thousands of monthly users. More recently, Paul was a consultant at Form & Method, Toronto’s elite shop for cutting-edge web & mobile development work and our longtime development partner. After joining the team, Paul built the original version of Financeit and has been in charge of the company's technical architecture and development ever since.
Shawn is certainly no stranger to the Canadian sales finance industry having been a professional in it since 1995. Shawn was most recently an AVP with HSBC Finance where he managed a national team of relationship managers responsible for sales, P&L and customer service. We are very excited to be adding Shawn’s tremendous industry experience and market reputation to our executive team.
With more than 15 years of marketing leadership with notable global brands, including Aviva, Yahoo!, and BT, Natasha brings a wealth of experience in product development, traditional and digital marketing to the role. As Marketing Director of Yahoo! Search Marketing Europe, Natasha led the small business channel in 12 countries, and is credited with spearheading a $40MM incremental pipeline through development of a reseller network. Natasha has launched international, high-performance campaigns across Canada and Europe, and holds an impressive track record in creating innovative strategies to attract and retain small and medium-sized businesses and their customers, making her a perfect fit for us here at Financeit. Natasha holds a BSc in Psychology from University College London, an MSc in Ergonomics from the University of Birmingham, a postgraduate diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and is professionally accredited by the British Association of Project Management.
Lee brings to Financeit over 15 years of product and project management experience in the consumer lending and eCommerce spaces. Lee is a passionate, analytical and innovative leader, with a strong technical foundation and a long track record of delivering slick digital solutions to powerhouse brands. Prior to joining Financeit in late 2013, Lee spent over 4 years at Nurun Toronto leading product strategy, roadmap, requirements and the product development life cycle for The Home Depot Canada’s eCommerce platform. Lee received his Honours B.A.Sc in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Peter brings a wealth of international experience to the Financeit team, acquired over a 20-year career spanning Canada, the US and the UK. As an equity partner at both New York-based law firm White & Case LLP and London-based law firm Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, Peter advised leading global investment banks, corporates (listed, private, pre-IPO, and early stage), and sovereigns on a wide range of public and private transactions (including capital markets, finance, regulatory and compliance, and corporate/M&A) and was consistently named as a leading lawyer or expert in prominent legal ranking publications. Peter has also held positions in government, politics, academia, and international development finance, including an in-house counsel finance role at the World Bank in Washington, DC and as a Visiting Senior Lecturer in corporate finance at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. Peter received his BA degree from his hometown University of Manitoba, his JD law degree from the University of British Columbia (including US securities, corporate, and finance law at the University of Minnesota), and his LLM law degree from the London School of Economics. He is qualified to practise law in Canada, New York, and England & Wales. As Financeit’s chief legal officer and member of the senior executive team reporting to the CEO, Peter will oversee day-to-day legal operations and legal strategy.
Susan has over 15 years of experience in credit risk management and has expertise in credit scoring, risk strategy and risk decision automation. Most recently, Susan was with Scotiabank, where she was responsible for risk strategy and automated decision support for retail and small business lending. Previously, she worked at Experian as General Manager for the Canadian office. Susan is on the Board of Directors for the Credit Scoring and Risk Strategy Association. She holds an MBA from McGill University and an Honors B.A. from the University of Western Ontario.
Ryan D’Souza joins Financeit from HomeStars Inc. where he spent five years as the Vice President of Sales and led the organization to momentous, profitable top line growth, helping facilitate the HomeStar acquisition in February of 2017. As a revenue growth expert, Ryan has had success increasing shareholder and stakeholder value and driving operational efficiency. Previous to HomeStars D’Souza held senior roles at Yellow Pages Ltd and Canpages and shared his expertise as an advisor at Yangaroo Inc and Pressly.
Jennifer Honey Brannon began her role with Financeit in 2016 and brings over 15 years of leadership experience with national HR departments. Prior to being at Financeit, Honey Brannon lead the Human Resources team at PSB Consultants and MCW Group of Companies, as well as held senior roles on CARA’s HR team and Paramount Canada's Wonderland.
