International Comfort Products (ICP) has announced that dealers representing its brands now have a new financing tool, available both online and through a smartphone app. Provided by Financeit, the tool will help homeowners better assess their buying ability and allow dealers to more accurately meet their customers’ needs and budget. ICP, which operates in Canada as part of UTC Canada Corporation, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

With Financeit, homeowners will be able to complete an online credit application that will determine if they are approved for financing. This will allow dealers to better understand an individual homeowner’s buying capacity and craft a proposal that aims to meet their budget.

There is no cost for the heating and cooling contractor to use Financeit’s standard program.

“We are excited to introduce Financeit’s innovative approach to point-of-sale financing to our dealers,” says J.T. Holtschlag, Vice President, ICP. “The sudden failure of a heating and cooling system often comes as a surprise to a homeowner and we recognize not everyone is in a position to cover the entire cost of a new home comfort system all at once. Having access to flexible, convenient and affordable payment plans is a tremendous tool for dealers and their customers to access the best home comfort system.”

“With the near instant credit decisions, homeowners can work with their ICP contractor to select the equipment that best suits their needs and meets their budget,” says Dave Murray, Director, Home Improvement, at Financeit.

“We are excited to offer Financeit’s financing options and believe this platform will help ICP dealers close more deals and sell customers higher-efficiency systems that will ultimately deliver greater comfort and long-term energy savings,” says Holtschlag.

Financeit offers a customized training program that includes instructions on how dealers can embed a simple link on their website that homeowners can use to secure pre-approval. Homeowners can also access the application process via the Financeit app.

Financeit is available across Canada in both English and French. Consumers can visit www.financeit.io/for-consumers for more information.
